This custom floating shelf installation transforms the art of bourbon display, drawing inspiration from the sleek elegance and precision of aviation. Designed for clients with a passion for both bourbon and flying, the shelves seamlessly combine functionality, craftsmanship, and an aviation-inspired aesthetic.
THE BOURBON FLIGHT FEATURES:
Crafted from a Single Hickory Tree: Each floating shelf was made from a single hickory tree, preserving its natural grain and character while offering strength and durability. This not only adds a personal touch but also creates a unique story behind the material.
Aviation-Inspired Design: The floating design mimics the aerodynamic shape of airplane wings, creating the illusion that the shelves are effortlessly suspended. The sleek lines and clean structure are a nod to the precision and minimalism found in aviation engineering.
Custom RGBW LED Lighting System: 70 feet of custom RGBW LED lighting was integrated into each shelf, flush inset with aluminum channels for a seamless glow. Controlled via touch screen and app, the lighting can be adjusted to highlight the bourbon collection and enhance the room’s atmosphere, adding a touch of modern sophistication.
Sleek India Ink Finish: The shelves were finished with India ink to achieve a modern, dark aesthetic while preserving the natural wood grain. A satin polyurethane coat was then applied to provide protection and subtle light refraction, amplifying the room’s refined ambiance.
